Production Planner Permanent | Dorset Innovation Park, Winfrith Newburgh, Dorchester (DT2 8ZB)
About the Role TKMS ATLAS UK is seeking a Production Planner to play a key role in ensuring the effective and efficient planning of production activities across the business. This position is critical to meeting customer delivery and quality targets by ensuring production demand is accurately scheduled, resourced and communicated.
Reporting to the Production Planning Team Lead, you will work closely with Project Controls, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement and Stores to deliver robust, achievable production plans across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities Ensure production demand is accurately loaded, maintained and aligned to project schedules in line with agreed lifecycle management (LCM).
Support bids and live projects by developing and maintaining realistic production plans and Gantt schedules.
Work closely with Project Controls to ensure resource and capacity plans are accurate and achievable.
Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure planning strategies reflect clean data, realistic lead times and delivery constraints.
Provide planning reports to project teams, highlighting schedule risks and opportunities.
Manage Production Orders through the full lifecycle, including handover to Test & Acceptance and Service & Support.
Work proactively with Procurement and Stores to ensure 100% kit availability.
Contribute to make/buy decisions at part level in collaboration with Procurement, Engineering and Production.
Manage stock availability and allocation within the ERP system, including lineside stock where applicable.
Make stockholding and build-to-stock recommendations to improve on-time delivery performance.
Support and drive change management for active production orders, completing impact assessments to inform decision-making.
Build strong working relationships across the business, promoting the value of effective production planning.
What We're Looking For Qualifications & Skills
Degree-level education or equivalent relevant experience.
Project Management qualification (desirable).
IoSCM Manufacturing Production & Operations Management qualification, or willingness to work towards.
Strong IT capability, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project.
SAP experience is highly advantageous; MRP/ERP experience is essential.
Knowledge & Experience
Demonstrable experience of planning and project management principles.
Understanding of production principles and manufacturing processes.
Experience with work package planning and management.
Knowledge of estimation, costing, pricing and bid processes.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Security Clearance Due to the nature of our work, the successful candidate must be able to achieve full Security Clearance (SC) .
