About The Role
Balfour Beatty Living Places is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join our established commercial team, supporting the delivery of essential highways and public realm services that make a real difference to local communities. This project team delivers vital Living Places contracts across the region, covering everything from highways maintenance and improvement works to public realm and local authority services. You’ll be part of a collaborative, high‑performing team operating from our Budbrooke Depot in Warwick, with strong links across operations, supply chain and client stakeholders. As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in managing costs, supporting senior commercial staff, and ensuring excellent commercial governance across live works.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the commercial management of highways and Living Places works from early engagement through to final account
* Procuring, managing and valuing work packages with our supply chain
* Measuring, recording and valuing works in line with contract requirements
* Preparing cost value reconciliations and assisting with forecasting and reporting
* Supporting customer and stakeholder relationships within your area of responsibility
* Contributing to value engineering and cost control to maximise value for money
* Using Balfour Beatty systems and commercial processes to maintain strong governance
Qualifications
* A BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent industry experience)
* Previous experience in a QS or Assistant QS role, ideally within highways, infrastructure or public sector works
* Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
* A structured, analytical approach to cost and commercial management
* An interest in (or progress towards) RICS, ICES or CIOB professional membership
