Job Title: Water Hygiene Engineer Location: Birmingham Travel to various client sites required Salary: £28,000-29,000 Van, Fuel Card, Internal Training & Company Benefits Employment Type: Permanent/Full-Time About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Water Hygiene Engineer to join our team, delivering high-quality water hygiene and Legionella control services across commercial, industrial, and residential properties. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with ACoP L8, HSG274, and BS 8580-1:201 9, providing practical solutions and expert advice to our clients. Key Responsibilities: Legionella Control & Compliance Conduct Legionella control regimes, site inspections, and risk assessments Perform temperature monitoring, water sampling, and testing Inspect and flush little-used outlets to prevent Legionella growth Maintain detailed and accurate records for compliance audits Water Hygiene Services Clean, disinfect, and descale tanks and pipework Chlorinate domestic and commercial water systems Service and maintain Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs) Carry out pipework disinfection and maintenance as required Client Liaison & Support Provide technical advice and recommendations to clients Deliver on-site training for clients on Legionella compliance best practices Work collaboratively with internal teams to support overall service delivery Health & Safety Compliance Follow company health and safety policies and safe working practices Identify and report hazards or risks during site visits Wear appropriate PPE and adhere to industry safety standards Essential Qualifications & Skills: Experience in water hygiene, Legionella control, or environmental services Knowledge of ACoP L8, HSG274, and BS 8580-1:2019 Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites efficiently Full UK driving license Strong communication and client liaison skills Attention to detail with accurate record-keeping Desirable Qualifications & Skills: City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Legionella Risk Assessment Plumbing background or relevant certifications Experience in fire safety-related water systems Knowledge of water treatment processes (e.g., closed system analysis, chemical dosing) Understanding of fire suppression systems and water-fed fire safety equipment What We Offer: Competitive salary and benefits Opportunities for professional development and training Supportive team environment with opportunities to work on diverse sites
