Responsibilities: We analyse existing applications to understand functionality and database connectivity. We implement small, low-risk changes, including updating database connections, enhancing error handling, and improving system performance. We support the modernisation and enhancement of existing applications, including migration from legacy Ingres databases to modern platforms such as Oracle. We collaborate with senior engineers and database specialists on system and database improvements. We participate in testing activities, including unit, functional, and regression testing, and support defect resolution. We create and maintain documentation, including design notes and runbooks. We take part in agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, planning, and retrospectives. We work collaboratively across programme teams, including data, testing, and Model Office teams. We contribute to risk reduction and continuous improvement across the platform. We proactively develop our skills and contribute positively to team culture.
