Job Overview
Security Officer – KP Snacks, Windy Ridge, Ashby De La Zouche, LE65 2BS. 4 on 4 off night only; may need to cover days if required.
Location: Ashby | Pay Rate: £13.11 per hour
Responsibilities
- Protect customer property, people and/or assets by providing security services in accordance with the site’s Assignment Instructions (AI’s) and any subsequent changes.
- Deliver results that meet and/or exceed key performance indicators / Service Level Agreements for the customer, providing a service that aids in the retention of the contract.
- Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self‑development.
- Be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies.
- Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published AI’s.
- Proactively review the AI’s and suggest amendments that improve or enhance the current level of service.
- Be compliant with industry and statutory legislation (front‑line licence in Security Guarding or Door Supervision; CCTV PSS SIA Licence; other contractually required courses).
- Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
- Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
- Work in a systematic, methodical and orderly way.
- Present all required competency training and complete it satisfactorily.
- Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through continual professional development.
- Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.
- Look out for and immediately report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
- Stay alert for threats or changes within the work environment and take the appropriate action to reduce risk.
- Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
- Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry after any incident, to be used as part of the Incident Report process.
- Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
- Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the AI’s.
- Call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
Qualifications
- Previous security experience.
- SIA Licence.
- SC Clearance desirable.
