We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join Insight’s Global Business Intelligence team, supporting the delivery of intelligent, scalable reporting and data solutions using modern cloud technologies.

The Role

As a Data Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, building and delivering intelligent reporting solutions, working closely with stakeholders across the business to translate requirements into meaningful, high‑quality data outputs.

You’ll play a hands‑on role in refining reporting requirements, developing automated data solutions and supporting wider data engineering capability within the team.


What You’ll Be Doing

* Designing, building and delivering moderate to complex reporting solutions using modern cloud technologies
* Working closely with business stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure data accuracy and structure supports effective reporting
* Building views and datasets for reporting, supporting testing and user adoption
* Following best practice and agile methodologies to deliver solutions iteratively and at pace
* Identifying opportunities to automate and improve reporting processes
* Supporting and mentoring Associate Data Engineers, helping to develop team capability
* Producing clear documentation to ensure solutions are reusable and scalable


What We’re Looking For

* Strong experience with cloud data technologies such as Databricks, Azure SQL, Azure Data Warehouse or Azure Data Factory (or similar in AWS/GCP)
* Working knowledge of Python, SQL or R
* Experience with self‑service BI tools such as Power BI (or Qlik, Tableau, Spotfire)
* Solid understanding of data modelling
* Ability to analyse and interpret technical and business data, and present insights to senior stakeholders
* Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience
* Strong written and spoken English
* Experience building ETL solutions and CI/CD pipelines
* Understanding of Agile delivery (Jira / Confluence)
* A proactive communicator who enjoys working collaboratively across teams
