Were working with a growing manufacturing business to find an experienced Maintenance Fitter who can bring strong hands-on maintenance expertise across mechanical, electrical and plant systems. This role would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys keeping machinery running smoothly through proactive and reactive maintenance.
The Role
Youll take ownership of maintaining a wide range of plant and production machinery, carrying out preventive checks, fault-finding, repairs, and emergency maintenance. While youll collaborate closely with the engineering team, the role offers plenty of autonomy once youve proven your capability. Youll also support general facilities maintenance as needed.
This position is ideal for someone from a manufacturing background whos used to downtime pressures, tight deadlines and operational challenges.
What Youll Be Doing
1. Maintaining and repairing mechanical systems, including gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, belts, and drive units
2. Troubleshooting pneumatics and hydraulics (compressors, valves, cylinders, schematics)
3. Supporting welding/fabrication equipment and carrying out small repairs where needed
4. Working on electrical systems: 3-phase, control panels, isolators, motors, VFDs, sensors
