Job Opportunity: Maintenance Electrician at HMP Morton Hall
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on-site Maintenance Electrician at HMP Morton Hall.
Working hours: 39 hours per week across 7 days, with a weekend shift pattern of 1 in 3 and an additional 15% salary allowance. The role may include being part of an on-call rota with standby allowances, and there is flexibility for optional overtime.
About the site: HMP Morton Hall offers a unique environment that balances structure with openness, focusing on safety, rehabilitation, and community. The site features open areas and a spacious layout, with only five accommodation blocks, creating a manageable setting.
Role responsibilities:
* Ensuring health and safety standards are met
* Testing and inspecting electrical installations according to current regulations
* Responding promptly to breakdowns
* Performing planned and preventative maintenance
* Fault finding and problem solving on electrical systems
* Monitoring and ordering critical spares and overseeing the BMS System
* Supporting sustainability initiatives and additional tasks as directed
Candidate requirements:
* Technical qualification such as City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, NVQ Level 3 or above
* Knowledge of BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition)
* Experience with electrical maintenance, distribution, installation, and testing
* Ability to work independently and at heights
