Overview of the role
The primary purpose of the Key Account Manager role is to grow the sales volume, value and margin of the Key Accounts ahead of the market, delivering / exceeding defined targets & KPI’s. This will be achieved through developing strong and trusted relationships with key account owners and decision makers, growing spend across product categories. The role will represent Key Pharmaceuticals UK Ltd. The role is hybrid based with a mix of field, office and home-based working. The core activities include Account management, relationship management, pricing, customer negotiations and business acquisition.
Main Responsibilities
* Develop and grow existing key accounts while prospecting and onboarding new customers
* Manage a portfolio of key accounts, maximizing sales of our Generic Pharma portfolio
* Create and deliver effective sales plans to achieve personal targets
* Identify upselling, cross-selling, and new product opportunities using customer and market data
* Own account profitability, managing P&L performance
* Monitor sales trends and share insights with internal teams to support decision-making
* Deliver exceptional customer service, acting as the main point of contact for UK customers
* Manage day-to-day account operations, including order processing, pricing, and stock availability
* Communicate monthly price lists and updates on pricing and supply
* Handle customer queries and concerns professionally and efficiently
* Collaborate closely with internal commercial and operational teams
* Maintain accurate documentation, including invoices, agreements, and account records
* Analyse customer purchasing behaviour to strengthen and expand key relationships
* Maintain and update Excel-based sales and account reports
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have a strong sales background and proven account management experience ideally in the pharma sector (or closely related). They will also have:
* Strong understanding of the pharmacy industry, trends, and challenges face by key accounts
* Ability to quickly build rapport with senior leaders, and account holders.
* Excellent negotiation and influencing skills to overcome objections and secure deals.
* Numerate and a strong proficiency of Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Commitment to ethical and transparent account management.
* Valid UK Driving License (role will involve travel to see customers)
* Thrives in a fast-paced environment (adapting to new processes and changes).
* Strong team player, contributing to achieving team objectives while hitting individual targets.
* Flexible approach for internal and external meetings, including travel and potential overnight stays
