Ateca Executive search is retained by a prestigious private bank with a world-class UK and Swiss platform to identify an exceptional Senior Private Banker for its London office. The successful candidate will have a credible 3-year business plan to build a HNW/UHNW AUM portfolio of Asian and/or Middle Eastern private clients, with seniority offered commensurate with the plan: Director level for plans targeting USD 250 million; Executive Director for USD 300-400 million; Managing Director for USD 500 million and above.
The Opportunity
Manage and grow a book of UHNW and HNW private clients with wealth originating from or connected to Asia and/or the Middle East, including Greater China, Southeast Asia, South Asia, the GCC, and wider MENA markets.
Act as the primary trusted adviser for complex, multi-jurisdictional Asian and Middle Eastern wealth structures, including family offices, investment holding companies, and cross-border succession and estate planning.
Utilise a UK FCA-regulated or Swiss booking platform to deliver tailored solutions across discretionary portfolio management, advisory mandates, structured products, alternative investments, real assets, and Islamic finance where relevant.
Engage proactively with intermediaries, family offices, lawyers, and advisers serving the Asian and Middle Eastern UHNW community in London.
Represent the bank's full capabilities to clients and prospects across investment, credit, foreign exchange, and fiduciary services.
Key Requirements
Minimum 8 years of private banking experience, with demonstrable expertise in Asian and/or Middle Eastern private wealth management at the UHNW/HNW level.
A credible 3-year business plan to build a HNW/UHNW AUM portfolio of no less than USD 250 million, drawn exclusively from individual and family wealth (no corporate, institutional, or retail clients). Seniority is offered in line with the plan: Director (USD 250M), Executive Director (USD 300-400M), Managing Director (USD 500M+).
Strong working knowledge of FCA-regulated UK booking platforms and/or Swiss booking environments, with direct experience in at least one major UK or Swiss private banking institution preferred.
Deep understanding of cross-border compliance requirements, CRS/AEOI, and the regulatory frameworks governing Asian and Middle Eastern private clients held in London or Switzerland.
Fluency in English essential; fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Arabic is highly valued.
Proven track record of consistent net new money generation and strong client retention.
FCA-registered or eligible to be registered.
