Overview
This position is part-time, working every Friday and Saturday from 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The Breakfast Attendant provides exceptional service to guests in the hotel’s breakfast area, ensuring a courteous and efficient experience.
Responsibilities
* Approach all guest and employee interactions with friendliness, courtesy, and service orientation.
* Maintain a professional appearance, including proper uniform and name tag.
* Greet and seat guests promptly.
* Ensure menus are clean and presentable.
* Clear, clean, and reset tables and hotel spaces as needed.
* Keep service areas stocked, organized, and clean; complete side work each shift.
* Handle guest requests and offer alternatives when necessary.
* Coordinate with other departments regarding VIP guests.
* Support food and beverage service, including dishwashing, restocking, cleaning, and floor maintenance.
* Know standards for room service orders and menu specials.
* Handle cashiering and shift paperwork.
* Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.
* Answer questions about the hotel, local attractions, and services.
* Attend meetings and perform additional duties as requested.
* Prepare quality beverages, including coffee, tea, cocktails, and specialty drinks.
Qualifications
* Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in job performance.
* High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
* Willing to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
* Legal age to serve alcohol and pass responsible serving training (e.g., TIPs).
* Ability to obtain and hold a Food Handlers card.
* Ability to evaluate options quickly and calmly handle stressful situations.
* Good communication and guest service skills.
* Basic knowledge of food and beverage standards and etiquette.
* Numerical skills for handling transactions.
* Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions.
* Patience, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with guests and staff.
* Willingness to learn and support team members.
