When you join the Intelligent Infrastructure and Roads team, you'll be part of a national business of approximately 1100 professionals across the UK, Ireland, and India, working alongside industry leaders passionate about quality and doing the right thing.
Intelligent Infrastructure & Roads (IIR) is part of the Transportation and Infrastructure Business Unit, with a combined NR budget of £80m+, providing design and delivery services across strategic bodies, Local Authorities, and contractors in the UK and Ireland. We resource projects globally with fully integrated teams.
The IIR Strategic Growth Director reports to the Managing Director and sits on the Senior Leadership Team. Your role involves building sustainable growth, ensuring excellent client experience, and leading Market Directors focusing on specific geographies and sectors. Collaborate with commercial, legal, and financial teams to foster a client-focused culture emphasizing project and bid leadership, ownership, and safety. Balance client, team, and commercial needs to deliver exceptional service.
Your Role Includes:
* Leading a team of market-facing professionals across the UK and Ireland.
* Driving a client-focused sales culture, achieving a 12-month book to burn ratio >1, and managing pipeline growth and conversion.
* Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities internally and externally.
* Reporting on sales data via Oracle and PowerBI dashboards.
* Leading complex bids as Bid Director.
* Developing new propositions and commercial strategies.
* Maintaining strategic relationships with clients, partners, and suppliers.
* Overseeing Key Client Account activities.
* Implementing sales governance processes.
* Ensuring operational and delivery excellence across bids and projects.
* Engaging with bid support teams for support activities.
Candidate Requirements:
* Relevant degree or equivalent qualifications.
* Experience in consultancy or industry, with a strong understanding of public sector procurement.
* Knowledge of the Infrastructure and Roads sectors is desirable.
* Proven leadership in team delivery and development.
* Strong client relationship skills and experience in winning major tenders.
* Experience in joint ventures and partnerships.
* Ability to influence and motivate across the business.
* Commercial acumen with evidence of revenue growth.
* Motivational leadership in high-pressure environments.
* Forward-thinking with strategic planning capabilities.
