Mechanical Supervisor - 12-month CONTRACT - Isleworth, London
VGC Energy, part of VGC Group Ltd are pleased to be recruiting for a Mechanical Supervisor in Isleworth, Greater London.
This role is site based and is initially for 12 months, with the possibility of extension following review.
Fulltime hours of 45 per week
£300-£341/day (inside IR35).
Mechanical Supervisor - Responsibilities
To supervise / manage the operational resources (people, and physical assets) in order to implement the plan for the assigned project safely, on time and to the required quality while maximising customers' satisfaction and the gross profit.
To implement all policies including those for SHE and risk management. To promote the company’s values towards its customers, in order to meet or exceed their expectations and fulfil the vision of becoming the most highly respected company in the industry.
Mechanical Supervisor - Key Tasks and Accountabilities
Supervise Sub-Contractors, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure work is completed efficiently and according to quality standards.
Identify areas of opportunity and improvement
Cooperate and coordinate with all stakeholders including the client-side, internal and supply chain to ensure the project outcomes are achieved. This would include contributing to the organisation of shut down methodology agreed in a timely fashion.
Mechanical Supervisor - Technical Expertise
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems within the sewage treatment plant.
Monitor and perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment
Engaging with the Supply Chain and support the contractor delivery and commissioning process.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of sewage treatment processes and their related mechanical systems.
All works should have detailed ‘Construction’ drawings available at the point of work and the supervisor should check against the ‘live’ document register.
The supervisor must ensure they have checked the works against the approved detailed design drawings.
Mechanical Supervisor - Planning and Coordination
Participate in the planning and scheduling of mechanical maintenance activities
Management and monitoring of sub-contractor performance and delivery. Update SIC boards (with the Supply Chain) and escalate to works manager issues.
Take the contractors plan of works and monitor and help deliver. This is working with the construction programmes through Short Interval Control (SIC).
Prepare and maintain documentation related to mechanical work, including reports and permits (ATEX permits, hotworks, etc should be raised and organised through the supervisor).
Control and monitor all mechanical isolation operations in line with temporary works procedures and risk assessments and method statements.
Control and monitor all pressure testing operations in line with company temporary works procedures and risk assessments and method statements
Organise with the suppliers the delivery of equipment. This should be carried out with the office manager and works manager
Mechanical Supervisor - Additional Responsibilities
May participate in training and development programs for team members.
Stay informed of new technologies and advancements in the sewage treatment and mechanical fields.
Ensure all labour, plant, materials and supply chain resources are accurately recorded (Site Diary).
Support with work relating to financial forecasts and reviews with commercial team
