Role: Associate Lecturer – Computing
Location: Central Bedfordshire College – Dunstable Kingsway Campus
Salary: Salary is £27.00 per hour.
Hours/Weeks: 15 hours per week

About the role:
We are currently seeking an Associate Lecturer in Computing to join our Computing and Digital Technologies department at The Bedford College Group.
As an Associate Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
1. Curriculum Delivery – Teach engaging and innovative lessons across Level 1 IT, Level 2 Information & Creative Technology, and Level 3 Extended Diploma in Computing, inspiring learners to reach their full potential.
2. Assessment & Feedback – Monitor student progress using Pro-Monitor, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records to support achievement and development.
3. Curriculum Development – Collaborate with the IT team to enhance course content, contribute to departmental growth, and support quality assurance processes with the Lead IV.
4. Student Support & Engagement – Create a supportive learning environment, encourage learner participation, and contribute to the overall success of the department.
5. Compliance & Professionalism – Uphold safeguarding, EDI, and health & safety standards, engage in ongoing professional development, and support college-wide initiatives.
About you:
6. Academic & Subject Expertise – Holds a degree in Computing or a relevant subject, with experience teaching Level 1 IT, Level 2 Information and Creative Technology, and Level 3 Extended Diploma in Computing.
7. Teaching & Assessment Skills – Skilled in planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback to support learner achievement.
8. Communication & Collaboration – Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, able to work effectively within a team to enhance curriculum delivery and student outcomes.
9. Commitment to Quality & Development – Strong work ethic, passionate about teaching, and dedicated to maintaining high standards and continuous professional growth.
10. Learner-Centred Approach – Motivated by student success, able to inspire and support learners across different levels and backgrounds in a dynamic educational environment.
