Our client, a renowned international consultancy is currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. This pivotal role involves leading and developing innovative solutions to complex problems, delivering projects at various stages of maturity, and collaborating closely with team members and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading and developing cost–effective, efficient, and innovative solutions to complex problems, creating practical designs.
* Delivering projects in several stages of maturity, including Feasibility Studies, Concept Designs, FEED Studies, Value Engineering, and Detailed Design.
* Preparing and developing electrical deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, cable calculations, cable block diagrams, plant layouts, cable routing, and cable containment design.
* Collaborating with equipment vendors on developing equipment package designs and conducting technical evaluations.
* Assessing the condition of electrical assets and their designs for capability, risk, opportunity, and need for intervention.
* Developing proposals and bids for the EC&I discipline and contributing to multidisciplinary proposals.
Job Requirements:
* Degree qualification in a relevant Engineering subject supported with substantial experience in electrical design, operation, maintenance, and testing.
* Chartered Engineer with membership in a relevant Engineering Institute.
* Ability and desire to lead the development of electrical deliverables and assess assets under construction or in operation.
* Knowledge of design, construction, and operation of power and energy projects.
* Proven understanding of the design process, demonstrating working knowledge of brief/scope documents, design concepts, and experience in producing calculations or commissioning, operating, maintaining, and testing medium and high voltage equipment and systems.

The team boasts expertise across all Energy Transition generation and conversion technologies, including novel, first–of–a–kind concepts and other low or zero carbon technologies. Collaborating with private developers, power utilities, government bodies, banks, lending agencies, contractors, and OEMs, they deliver projects safely while exceeding client expectations.
With teams strategically located in the UK, India, Ireland, and wider Europe, they work internationally with clients and other energy sector teams in North America, the Middle East, Africa, South America, Asia, New Zealand, and Australia. The Energy Transition team supports clients throughout the entire lifecycle of a project, from inception through development, construction, operation, and decommissioning.
