An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role includes overseeing credit activities such as risk management, developing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based position at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience in a busy credit control team,
* Possess strong financial understanding,
* Be capable of problem-solving,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Have excellent communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing relationships with Credit Insurers, monitoring insured limits, submitting claims, and assisting with renewal negotiations,
* Leading monthly meetings with senior management,
* Providing management reports on debts, debtor days, collections, and other metrics,
* Overseeing cash collection for all group companies,
* Ensuring departmental systems and protocols are efficient and compliant,
* Managing the Credit Control team,
* Processing credit applications and PODs,
* Making major credit decisions,
* Controlling credit limits,
* Handling litigation and insolvency cases,
* Setting credit policies and managing credit notes,
* Conducting risk assessments for existing and new clients,
* Maintaining strong relationships across departments,
* Reviewing sales terms and conditions,
* Visiting customers and company sites as needed.
