Job Description
Location: Halifax, Elland, HX5 9JP
Hours: 37.5 hours
Working Pattern: Full-time
Are you a service leader who thrives on building high‑performing teams, raising the bar with contractor partners, and turning customer sites into a showcase of safety, quality and commercial value? As Services Manager – Installations at A‑SAFE, you will take overall ownership of installation delivery across the UK. From our established barrier installations through to the emerging service offerings we are introducing, you’ll lead our internal installation teams, our subcontract partners, and act as the face of A‑SAFE for customers at all levels. This is a build‑and‑grow role. Our UK installation service is at an exciting stage of evolution and you will be foundational in shaping what world‑class delivery looks like, embedding new services on site and influencing the practice we roll out globally from our UK HQ.
Reporting into the Global Services Director, you will spend most of your week in the field, scoping projects, signing off works, auditing contractors and running our larger installations on site.
Responsibilities
* Own end‑to‑end delivery of installation projects across the UK, from planning through completion, post‑installation reviews and customer feedback.
* Lead and develop the UK installation team – installers, supervisors and the Installation Coordinator – with clear KPIs, regular one‑to‑ones and meaningful development plans.
* Manage subcontract partners end to end – onboarding, performance, audit and the introduction of additional service partners as we grow our offering.
* Be the face of A‑SAFE on customer sites – leading scope, sign‑off, post‑installation reviews and identifying further commercial opportunities.
* Drive productivity, cost control and margin performance – with accurate forecasting, KPI reporting and timely escalation of risk.
* Plan scheduling, utilisation and geographic deployment to optimise our footprint and reduce reliance on contractors where it makes sense.
* Lead site audits, NCR management and root‑cause analysis to drive continuous improvement and protect the A‑SAFE brand.
* Champion digital and field service tooling to move our teams away from paper‑based processes.
* Support training, competency tracking and personal development across the installation function.
* Collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, Health & Safety, Quality, HR and Marketing to deliver a seamless customer experience.
Qualifications
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
* IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
* Black CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
* Working knowledge of JCT contracts; awareness of NEC is an advantage.
* Strong experience in a leadership role within a service, installation or field‑based environment.
* Proven experience producing risk assessments and method statements.
* Demonstrable customer relationship management at all stakeholder levels.
* Strong commercial awareness with a track record of improving productivity, cost and margin.
* Confidence with IT – building presentations, interpreting data and reporting on KPIs.
* Continuous improvement mindset, ideally with experience scaling or shaping a service function.
Additional skills
* Energy, resilience and the persuasive influence to lead a team through change.
* An empathetic, people‑first leadership style paired with strong accountability.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* A commercial eye – spotting opportunities for value, growth and operational improvement on site.
* A willingness to be hands‑on, in the field and visible with teams and customers.
* Curiosity and adaptability – this is a foundational role and you will help shape what comes next.
Benefits
* A subsidised on‑site gym, available for all colleagues.
* Flexible start and finish times to fit around you and your lifestyle.
* Enhanced Maternity, Paternity and NICU pay.
* 25 Days holiday plus bank holidays with the option to buy more.
* Cycle to work scheme, Specsavers vouchers, long service rewards, EAP.
