Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Oxfordshire. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN / SEND, as well as other needs such as SEMH needs. We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).
Targeted Provision focuses on raising the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. You will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.
This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who enjoy 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with diverse learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to improve engagement and educational outcomes.
Role
The SEN / SEND Tutor role:
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* These learners are referred by local authorities and schools and may require support in their educational and social-emotional journey
* Deliver flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
Responsibilities
* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Provide holistic and engaging sessions that meet needs and advance educational and social-emotional progress
* Complete lesson reports and provide progress feedback
Requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* Knowledge of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (we can assist with cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote/online work
* Ability to work in a manner that promotes health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies
Employment status
* Engagement as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise
* Contract for service with PAYE payment
* No guaranteed amount of work or expenses coverage
* Insurance covers the work you do
* Not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
