As Company Secretary, you will be responsible for official Board correspondence, and ensuring the company complies with relevant regulations.
The role requires an organised and methodical individual who has excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and an understanding of the requirements of the role
Main Duties & responsibilities
The main requirements of the post are to
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and requirements e.g. Companies House
* Maintaining the company's statutory books and records
* Filing annual returns at Companies House
* Arranging and administering meetings of the Directors, including preparing agendas and minutes and associated meeting documents
* Overseeing the finances of the organisation, ensuring it is solvent, well run and that audited annual accounts are filed in accordance with requirements (day to day finance and administration duties are completed by the staff team)
* Ensuring the organisations' governing documents are robust and complied with e.g. Articles of Association
* Assisting with the setting of the overall strategy and policy objectives
* Providing support and leadership to peers and to staff of the operational team
* Support the strategic development and direction of the organisation
* Ensure appropriate policy and practices to deliver the organisations responsibilities, aims and core values
* Ensure the organisation functions within its legal and financial requirements and strives to achieve best practice
* Ensure the company operates on a sound financial footing and explores all opportunities to secure long-term income, be that through commissioning or selling services
* Champion the work of the organisation
