Summary
* The SEN Support Worker will provide high-quality, person-centered support to children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to help them access education, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes. This role is a 1-month contract with a local authority, focusing on delivering essential support to enhance the educational experience and personal growth of children with SEN.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 or small-group support to children with SEN in educational or community settings.
* Implement strategies recommended by teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and EHCP plans.
* Support children with communication, behavior regulation, emotional well-being, and personal development.
* Assist with activities that promote independence, learning, and social interaction.
* Support children with personal care tasks where necessary (e.g., toileting, feeding, mobility).
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (autism, learning disabilities, behavioral needs, etc.).
Essential Qualifications Required
* Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Teaching Assistant, Youth Work, Health & Social Care, or equivalent experience.
* Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete immediately).
