Role Overview:

What You’ll Be Doing:
* Designing, building, and maintaining reliable, secure infrastructure and core platforms
* Taking solutions from proof-of-concept through to production-ready deployments
* Leading on the development and improvement of monitoring, alerting, and management systems
* Embedding automation and DevOps best practices across environments
* Collaborating with engineers, developers, and stakeholders to deliver robust solutions
* Driving platform optimisation, performance tuning, and system reliability
* Carrying out security assessments, vulnerability checks, and system hardening
* Building and maintaining automation tooling using modern frameworks
* Troubleshooting complex issues across Linux, containers, and cloud environments
* Producing high-quality documentation and ensuring knowledge sharing across teams
* Mentoring team members and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Main Skills Needed:
* Strong experience with Linux administration (e.g. Ubuntu) and Windows environments
* Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell or similar)
* Hands-on experience with DevOps and automation tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD, Git)
* Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or similar
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management
* Understanding of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration
* Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Splunk, Nagios)
* Solid grasp of security principles and system hardening practices
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across multiple projects
* Awareness of Agile methodologies and DevOps culture
* Experience mentoring or leading engineers within a technical environment
