Children’s Social Work, Youth Justice Service Officer, Cambridgeshire Pay rate to £35 per hour Contract role, Youth Justice Service Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Youth Justice Service Office within Children’s Social Work in the Cambridge area. Brief Duties / Key Responsibilities Youth Justice Officer required for approximately 3 months based in the Cambridge area. The office address would be on the outskirts of Cambridge. It is hybrid working with attending the office once per week suggested. It would be necessary to undertake significant travel though across parts of the county as part of the role, particularly for home visits. The Youth Offending Service is a multi-disciplinary team delivering services to prevent and reduce offending behaviour amongst young people. A vacancy is available for an experienced practitioner who is able to work with a wide range of young people who enter the criminal justice system. Applicants will need a qualification at diploma level or above in a relevant subject such as social work, youth work or probation. The roles involve working with offenders, courts, risk assessment, report writing and with partner agencies, so experience in these areas is important. The position is in a very challenging but rewarding area, working with young offenders ranging from those who haven't yet reached the court system through to those in prisons. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of community and custodial sentences ensuring effective assessment, intervention planning, review and risk management. To effectively divert young people from offending, the post-holder will be working with a range of other team members whose roles include substance misuse, psychology, accommodation, victims, education, training and employment.
