We are currently recruiting for a Female Support Worker for 24 hours per week in the Govan area of Glasgow. This is initially a temporary post for 3 months but may have the possibility of extending.
Due to the needs of the people supported, a full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role (must be able to drive a manual vehicle).
Responsibilities
* Spend your whole shift with the person you support, making the biggest impact on their lives
* Support 2 individuals who share their home, who have faced challenges in the past due to learning disabilities and health issues
* Provide medication support
* Cook and assist with personal care
* Assist with moving, positioning and attending hospital appointments
* Maintain the homes of people supported and manage their finances
* Contribute to a 24-hour support team with a variety of shifts, including weekends and sleepovers
* Work with a flexible shift pattern: 7:30am – 7:30pm and 7:30pm – 10:30pm with a sleepover
Requirements and expectations
* A female colleague is required for this role to meet the needs of the people supported (this is a genuine occupational requirement as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
* Comfortable supporting people to go swimming; you do not need to be a strong swimmer, just comfortable providing support in the water
