About the vacancy
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor the Transport Management System (TMS) departures board to ensure timely vehicle departures, escalating delays appropriately.
* Oversee factory collections, verifying punctuality and completeness, and ensuring customer communication is maintained.
* Liaise with the fleet department to address vehicle defects and follow up on repairs or substitutions throughout the shift.
* Communicate accurate inbound ETA updates and maintain visibility of trailer availability during loading and dispatch operations.
* Prepare and distribute clear and concise handover reports to the incoming shift, identifying key actions and outstanding issues.
* Escalate operational risks or significant incidents promptly to Transport Supervisors or senior management.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory standards, including EU Driver Hours and Working Time Directive.
* Support resolution of employee relations issues, including holding or assisting with disciplinary or investigatory meetings.
Requirements:
* Transport Manager CPC Qualification (Mandatory)
* Knowledge of EU Drivers' Hours & Regulations
* Proficient use of TMS and transport tracking systems
* Strong communication and reporting skills
* Ability to manage operational pressure and prioritise tasks
