My client is currently recruiting for a Healthcare Solicitor to join their top 100 law firm on a fully remote basis.
Team and Practice Overview
The Healthcare team is seeking a 3-6 PQE solicitor to assist a partner's team in its expanding practice. The role offers significant opportunities for training, growth, and development within a unique team recognized for its success and reputation in healthcare litigation. The team acts for a diverse range of clients, including insurers, insureds, regulators, Royal Colleges, defense organizations, and medical professionals, with a primary focus on insurers and medical professionals on the defense side. The team values teamwork and aims to develop holistic lawyers capable of handling all aspects of defendant healthcare litigation.

They provide an engaging work environment free from many restrictions typical of mainstream private practice, enabling lawyers to undertake fascinating healthcare litigation work.
Responsibilities
1. Advising and representing healthcare professionals in regulatory proceedings before bodies such as the GMC, GDC, HCPC, NMC, with GMC experience highly valued.
2. Handling MHPS and private hospital disciplinary cases.
3. Representing healthcare professionals and their medical indemnity insurers in clinical negligence claims, including doctors, surgeons, nurses, dentists, and allied health professionals.
4. Providing medico-legal guidance and pre-action assistance for members of medical indemnity insurance schemes, including in the Caribbean.
5. Offering policy coverage advice to healthcare sector insurers.
Minimum Requirements
1. Experience in healthcare litigation, specifically defendant clinical negligence claims and healthcare regulatory cases. Applicants with only claimant experience or only claimant work are advised not to apply.
2. Experience in insurance law and coverage is beneficial but not essential.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and strong technical legal ability.
4. Attention to detail, motivation, a strong work ethic, and great team-working skills.
5. Confidence, resilience, tenacity, proactivity, initiative, and strong organizational skills.
