Shape Curious Minds

Are you passionate about bringing history to life, exploring diverse cultures, or helping students understand the world around them? Do you believe Humanities has the power to spark debate, critical thinking, and curiosity?

A forward-thinking secondary school in Gateshead is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Humanities Teacher to join their team. This is your opportunity to make your subject meaningful, relevant, and unforgettable for students across KS3 and KS4.

The Opportunity

In this role, you’ll:

* Deliver engaging Humanities lessons (History, Geography, or Religious Studies).
* Encourage students to question, analyse, and think independently.
* Create a classroom environment where discussion, curiosity, and respect thrive.
* Support pupils in developing a deeper understanding of the world — past and present.

You’ll be joining a supportive department with strong leadership and excellent resources, where collaboration and fresh ideas are genuinely valued.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a teacher who:

* Holds QTS (or equivalent) and has experience teaching Humanities at secondary level.
* Brings energy, creativity, and strong subject knowledge to every lesson.
* Has high expectations for learning, behaviour, and achievement.
* Is committed to helping every student reach their full potential.

* Weekly PAYE pay for peace of mind and transparency.
* Flexible short-term and long-term placements to suit your goals.
* A dedicated consultant who understands local schools and supports you throughout.
* Referral bonuses for recommending other talented educators.

Invest in Your Growth

Your development matters. That’s why we offer free CPD courses, helping you strengthen your subject expertise, classroom strategies, and SEND/EAL knowledge. You’ll also have access to Thrive training, giving you practical tools to support student wellbeing while fostering resilience and positive classroom relationships. We’re committed to helping you grow in confidence, capability, and impact.

If you’re ready to inspire debate, deepen understanding, and bring Humanities to life in the classroom, we’d love to hear from you.
