About the role
The Reward & Employment team is part of PwC's rapidly growing People & Organisation practice. The team is currently looking for new members who can support clients in various employment-related areas within the spectrum of services. As a Tax Manager, your role would involve advising a wide range of national and global clients on many aspects of employment-related governance and risks while also looking to maximize opportunities.
What your days will look like:
1. Providing advice in respect of PAYE and NIC matters, including payroll, expenses and benefits and dealing with year-end reporting (PSA, Form 42, and P11Ds).
2. Providing advice on PAYE, NIC matters, payroll, expenses, benefits, and year-end reporting (PSA, Form 42, P11Ds).
3. Assisting clients with HMRC investigations and liaising with tax authorities.
4. Advising on the tax/NIC treatment of non-cash remuneration.
5. Undertaking large projects to meet HMRC requirements.
6. Developing expenses and benefits policies and procedures for clients.
7. Conducting due diligence to identify material exposure to unpaid tax/NIC affecting transactions like acquisitions or mergers.
8. Consulting on compliance with CIS and other pay governance areas such as National Minimum/Living Wage regulations, holiday pay, Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, and assisting with HMRC enquiries.
9. Ensuring clients are aware of and understand new legislation (, IR35) and its impact.
This role is for you if:
10. Employment Tax Knowledge: Have a strong understanding of employment-based tax legislation and seek to enhance knowledge in employment taxes and governance issues.
11. Professional Development: Either have or be willing to gain knowledge in Construction Industry Scheme, pay governance, and hold or work towards a recognized tax qualification (CTA).
12. Team Collaboration: Work with the wider team on client assignments and be dedicated to delivering high-quality client service.
13. Agility and Learning: Be agile and willing to develop experience and knowledge in broader areas of Reward and Employment.
