Contract: Full-time | 37 hours per week | Locum
A local authority in Wolverhampton is seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join their Equipment and Adaptations Service, working across both adults and children’s services.
This is a varied role focused on delivering high-quality OT assessments and interventions within a social care setting, with a strong emphasis on equipment provision, minor and major adaptations, and promoting independence.
Main Duties:
1. Complete specialist Occupational Therapy assessments for adults and children within a community social care setting
2. Recommend and coordinate provision of equipment, minor works, and major adaptations to support independence and safety
3. Manage a varied caseload, prioritising complex cases and ensuring timely interventions
4. Work collaboratively with housing, social care, and health professionals to deliver joined-up support
5. Provide advice and guidance on moving and handling, risk management, and functional independence
6. Attend office base 1 day per week (Thursday) as part of hybrid working arrangements
7. Ensure all interventions comply with relevant legislation and local authority procedures
Requirements:
8. HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist
9. Experience within social care OT services
10. Strong background in equipment provision, minor and major adaptations
11. Experience working with adults and/or children within community settings
12. Confident managing complex cases
13. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle desirable
