With a strong presence in the commercial, residential, and public sectors, this organisation has built trusted relationships with blue-chip clients and leading developers, completing projects typically valued between £1m and £50m. They are known for their attention to detail, collaborative culture, and technical excellence, consistently delivering complex builds and high-end refurbishments on time and to exceptional standards. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Estimator to join their successful pre-construction team. The Role The Senior Estimator will play a key role in preparing and managing competitive tenders across a variety of projects within the commercial fit-out and refurbishment sectors. This position offers autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to shape bid strategy in a well-established contractor with a strong order book. Key Responsibilities: * Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction and fit-out projects. * Interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify risk, opportunity, and value engineering potential. * Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations and ensure complete scope coverage. * Work closely with Pre-Construction, Design, and Project teams to develop pricing strategies. * Manage cost plans, tender summaries, and commercial reports for internal and client review. * Attend pre-start meetings, client interviews, and project handovers as required. * Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes. * Maintain up-to-date market awareness of materials, labour, and subcontractor pricing trends. About You * Proven experience working as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within a main contractor or specialist fit-out contractor. * Strong understanding of construction estimating, cost planning, and procurement processes. * Experience across fit-out, refurbishment, and commercial projects (CAT A/B fit-out experience highly desirable). * Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills. * Confident communicator able to work collaboratively across internal teams and external stakeholders. * Proficiency in estimating software such as Causeway, CostX, or Excel-based systems. * Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred. * A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
