Role Overview – Automotive Sales Management and Leadership
As Assistant General Sales Manager, you will support the General Sales Manager in executing the daily sales operation, motivating and developing the Sales Team, and ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction and business performance. You will play a vital role in consistently achieving revenue targets and growing our Mercedes-Benz brand by leading with integrity, professionalism, and a passion for excellence.
Main Responsibilities – Assistant General Sales Manager
* Assist in managing the daily operations of the New and Used Sales Department to deliver exceptional results aligned with Mercedes-Benz standards
* Drive sales performance for vehicles, finance, and related products by developing action plans and motivating the sales team
* Support, coach, and mentor the Sales Consultants to enhance their skills, foster team engagement, and achieve departmental targets
* Work collaboratively with colleagues across aftersales, marketing, and administration to deliver an integrated, customer-focused service
* Monitor and manage key sales metrics, stock levels, and profit margins, reporting to the General Sales Manager with accuracy
* Ensure full compliance with FCA regulations, company policies, and Mercedes-Benz brand standards
* Enhance the Mercedes-Benz customer journey by championing a culture of outstanding service and exceeding customer expectations
* Handle customer queries and resolve escalated issues effectively and with professionalism
Ideal Candidate Profile for Assistant General Sales Manager
* Proven experience in an automotive sales management or senior sales executive role, within a franchised retail environment
* Comprehensive understanding of automotive sales processes, targets, and compliance requirements
* Inspirational leadership style and excellent communication skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and support a high-achieving team
* Strong analytical, organisational, and commercial acumen skills
* Passion for delivering customer service excellence and building lasting relationships
* Sound knowledge of CRM and DMS systems

* Full UK manual driving licence and right to work in the UK
Summary of Role – Automotive Assistant General Sales Manager
* Location: Mercedes-Benz and smart - Dartford
* Working Hours: 45 hours per week
* Schedule: This is a 5‑day flexible working pattern, consisting of four mid‑week days 8:00am–6:00pm and one weekend day. The weekend shift would be either Saturday 9:00am–5:00pm or Sunday 10:00am–4:00pm
