Working as the WRU Volunteer Coordinator, you'll manage all elements of volunteering relating to Community Clubs across Wales.

You'll manage volunteers and the relationships with those they work with. You will launch a National Volunteering Campaign for the WRU. You'll also monitor, evaluate, and accredit volunteers.

Closing Date: 31st July 2025

Salary: £31,060 per annum

Location: Hybrid working with an expectation that you will work in an agreed WRU office/location at least three days per week.

Hours of work: 35 hrs per week across a 7/7 pattern

Responsible to: Club Business Development Lead

Contractual status: Full time, permanent

The Person

* Educated to at least A Level standard
* Excellent IT Skills, specifically Microsoft package
* Strong interpersonal skills
* A motivated driven individual who is self-motivated and can manage their own workload
* Excellent time management
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
* Ability to prioritise own workload and balance conflicting demands
* Effective use of social media
* Ability to communicate and work through the medium of Welsh is desirable.

The Role

Key responsibilities, tasks & actions:

* Innovation – Developing and launching a National Club Volunteer Campaign with associated resources
* Recruiting: Finding new volunteers and onboarding them to Community Clubs
* Training: Ensuring volunteers are trained and have adequate skills
* Placing volunteers: Matching volunteers with roles based on their interests, experience, and education
* Stakeholder engagement: Engaging with key stakeholders who can support in the key aims and objectives of the Volunteer Recruitment, Retention, Reward and Recognition
* Organising events: Planning events to attract new volunteers
* Managing resources: Submitting Funding applications to support

* WRU Colleagues across Community Department
* WRU Member clubs / officers and volunteers

* Essential - Strong interpersonal skills and relationship management
* Desirable - Previous experience of working with Volunteers
* Essential – Previous experience of supporting voluntary clubs
* Essential - Sound administration and organisational skills including the management of databases
* Desirable - Previous experience of engaging with volunteers
* Desirable – Previous experience of recruiting volunteers
* Essential - Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance
* Essential – Well organised and driven to succeed
* Essential – Able to present to large groups

WRU Requirements

* Valid UK driving licence is required
* This role is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure and reviewed regularly in line with regulated activity and policy requirements
