Trust Grade Doctor in Emergency Medicine
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Emergency Department team at St Peters Hospitals, where excellence, teamwork and compassion are at the heart of patient care. As a Trust Grade Doctor in Emergency Medicine, you will play a vital role in assessing and managing a diverse range of acute presentations, working closely with consultants, nurses and allied health professionals to deliver safe, timely and high‑quality care.
* Core Responsibilities
* Assess, investigate and manage patients under consultant supervision and support smooth patient flow through effective decision‑making and communication.
* Participate fully in the middle‑grade rota, both in and out of hours, ensuring continuous medical cover and the provision of high‑quality care around the clock.
* Engage actively in professional development, including participation in the Emergency Department’s teaching programme, local specialty education sessions, core medical training activities and hospital grand rounds.
* Undertake audit and quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing patient safety, service efficiency and clinical outcomes.
* Develop specialist interests within Emergency Medicine, with opportunities to explore areas such as trauma care, paediatrics, acute medicine or pre‑hospital emergency medicine.
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including consultants, nursing staff, allied health professionals and administrative colleagues.
* Maintain accurate record‑keeping for every patient seen and communicate with GPs and other agencies.
* Supervise the care of patients during clinical duties and provide support to less experienced medical and nursing staff.
* Provide internal cover for annual and sick leave, with flexibility in post hours.
* Participate in staff and group meetings as required.
* Help uphold the standards framework provided by the GMC, including service policies, guidelines and protocols.
