Description The Engineering Surveyor is responsible for providing surveying and structural verification support during demolition and deconstruction activities. The role focusses on monitoring and assessing the structural integrity, alignment and stability of structural elements being cut, demolished or lifted on site. The Engineering Surveyor will ensure works are undertaken safely and in accordance with the approved engineering designs, demolition methodology and site safety requirements. The role will work closely with the Construction Manager, Demolition Supervisors, Temporary Works Coordinator, Lifting Teams and Engineering Design Teams to ensure that structural elements remain stable throughout the demolition process. Responsibilities Structural monitoring – conduct surveys to assesses the structural integrity, stability and movement of blocks and structural elements prior to, during and after cutting and removal operations. Dimensional verification – Verify sizes, weights, alignment and tolerances against engineering drawings and demolition methodology. Survey control and setting out – Establish and maintain site control networks to provide works for subcontractors. Produce survey reports, measurements, and as-built records to support engineering assurance, safety cases and project documentation. Provide technical input and engineering assurance to ensure demolition activities are undertaken in accordance with design intent, temporary works requirements and safety procedures. Work collaboratively with site engineers, demolition supervisors, lifting teams and temporary works coordinators to ensure survey data supports safe execution of work. Ensure all surveying activities comply with project quality procedures, health and safety requirements and relevant regulatory standards Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Essential Experience in structural monitoring and dimensional control Ability to interpret drawings, demolition sequencing and temporary works designs Experience analyzing survey data and producing technical reports. Knowledge of temporary works and structural stability principles Experience monitoring structural movement or deformation Desirable Competence using surveying equipment Experience in 3S survey modelling, point cloud processing or BIM integration. Familiarity with lifting operations and load verification Qualifications Essential CSCS card (or equivalent site access certification) Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or related discipline or; Demonstratable equivalent experience in engineering surveying within construction or demolition project. Desirable Chartered or working towards professional accreditation. Temporary works or structural awareness training SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely LI-ES1
