Role Description
The Student Counselor will provide guidance to prospective and current students on academic pathways, university options, and study-abroad opportunities. This full-time, on-site role is based in Sheffield and involves conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, assessing student profiles, and recommending suitable programs and institutions. The counselor will assist students with application processes, documentation, and timelines, while coordinating closely with admissions and administrative teams. Daily responsibilities include responding to student and family inquiries, delivering information sessions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring high-quality customer service throughout the student journey. The role also involves staying up to date with international education trends, entry requirements, and visa regulations to provide informed and current advice.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated experience in Student Counseling and Career Counseling to support learners in making informed academic and professional decisions.
* Strong Communication skills, including active listening, clear verbal explanations, and professional written correspondence with students and families.
* Proven Customer Service abilities, with a focus on empathy, responsiveness, and building trust with diverse student populations.
* Background or strong interest in Education, particularly in international or higher education environments.
* Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field; relevant certifications are an advantage.
* Ability to work on-site in Sheffield, manage multiple cases at once, and maintain organized, accurate student records.
* Familiarity with international university admissions processes and visa requirements is highly beneficial.
* Competence with basic office software and online communication tools to support efficient student advising and follow-up.
