Job Description
New Directions Education is currently recruiting a caring, committed, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated Outstanding primary school in Huyton on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs in a nurturing and inclusive school environment.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning, development, and wellbeing, helping them to thrive both academically and emotionally.

The Role:
6. Provide targeted support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
7. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support strategies
8. Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions as required
9. Support pupils with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and learning needs
10. Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
11. Monitor and support pupil progress and wellbeing throughout the school day
The Ideal Candidate:
12. Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant or supporting children with additional needs (desirable)
13. Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
14. Good understanding of SEND and inclusive classroom practices
15. Strong communication and teamwork skills
16. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
17. Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check and provide references covering the last 5 years
