At LexisNexis Intellectual Property Solutions (LNIP), our mission is to bring clarity to innovation by enabling innovators to make informed decisions, accelerate productivity, and achieve superior results. Every day, our team supports the development of technologies and processes that advance humanity. Helping our customers reach their goals is our primary focus—and our success is measured by the results we deliver for them.
About the Role
As Principal Product Manager, you will lead the strategy and execution of LexisNexis IP’s patent technology classification and taxonomy portfolio. You’ll define how patent data is classified, vectorized, and understood by the leading innovators in the world. You will be working at the intersection of AI/ML, LLMs, embeddings, and semantic search.
You will partner with engineering, data science, and go-to-market teams to deliver accurate, explainable, and scalable AI-driven classification systems that power the next generation of IP analytics, insights, and decision-making.
Responsibilities
 * Define and own the multi-year vision and roadmap for AI-driven patent classification and taxonomy services.
 * Partner with data science and engineering to advance classification models using embeddings, LLMs, and knowledge graphs.
 * Establish and manage evaluation frameworks (precision/recall, coverage, drift, calibration) and ensure model governance and MLOps excellence.
 * Govern taxonomy stewardship, data provenance, and compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and Responsible AI standards.
 * Translate AI capabilities into commercial outcomes—driving adoption, retention, revenue growth, and ROI across IP analytics and data products.
 * Partner with Finance, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure roadmap investments deliver measurable business impact and margin performance.
 * Represent LexisNexis IP in industry standards bodies and thought‑leadership forums.
 * Mentor and coach product managers and cross‑functional teams, fostering innovation and accountability.
 * Track and report commercial KPIs for roadmap capabilities, ensuring that each release contributes to growth and profitability targets.
Requirements
 * Extensive experience in product management or adjacent leadership roles, ideally in AI/ML/NLP or data‑driven platforms.
 * Proven success delivering AI/ML/LLM products at scale, including training, deployment, monitoring, and governance.
 * Strong knowledge of embeddings, semantic search, knowledge graphs, and human‑in‑the‑loop workflows.
 * Ability to convert technical innovation into measurable business and customer value.
 * Excellent communication and stakeholder management at executive level.
 * Deep experience with taxonomy systems (CPC/IPC/USPC) and IP analytics workflows preferred.
 * Inclusive, data‑informed leadership style; ability to influence globally distributed teams.
 * Advanced degree in engineering, data science, law (IP), or business preferred.
