Our leading Facilities Management client is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join their team in Newcastle Upon Tyne (NE12 8BU).
Overview
* Job Title: Payroll and Benefits Administrator
* Reports to: Payroll Team Lead
* Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne (NE12 8BU)
* GBP 12-15 per hour + Holiday (weekly pay)

Key Accountabilities
* Ensure payroll and benefit processes comply with current legislation.
* Operate in line with payroll and benefit procedures, including:
* Variable data input
* Process payroll cycle from input to BACS creation
* Manage Absence Administration (e.g., SSP, SMP, SAP, SPP)
* Handle statutory and voluntary deductions from pay
* Liaise with line managers and HR partners to resolve employee queries
* Manage tax code changes, P45, P60, RTI submissions
* Perform payroll and benefit reconciliations, identifying and validating discrepancies
* Handle annual pension returns, pension amendments, and auto-enrolment processing
* Reconcile pensions and upload data to providers' portals
* Update benefits portal for new starters or monthly amendments
* Support the administrative activities during the annual benefits window, ensuring accurate payments and deductions
Knowledge and Skills Required
* Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, ADP)
* CIPP qualification (desirable)
* Knowledge of multiple pension schemes
* Understanding of current payroll and benefit legislation
* Confidentiality and discretion
* Teamwork and collaboration skills
* Good communication skills
* Attention to detail
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office packages
* Knowledge of GDPR regulations
* Analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to liaise effectively with line managers, HR staff, and external providers
Required Experience
* Experience in operating within a payroll or benefits team in a transaction processing environment (desirable)
* Experience with SAP database (desirable)
* Experience with LGPS and NHS pension schemes (desirable)
