Rate: £30–£35 per hour (depending on shift type and experience)

Job Overview
We're working with a secure facility in Preston that requires experienced Registered Nurses (RGN or RMN) to join the healthcare team on a locum basis. This is a dynamic role that involves supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of individuals in custody, often with complex and varied needs.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
* Delivering hands‑on nursing care across a range of clinical areas
* Carrying out assessments, managing medications, and responding to urgent health concerns
* Supporting patients with long‑term conditions, substance misuse, or acute mental health issues
* Working as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside prison staff, GPs, and other healthcare professionals
* Maintaining clear and accurate clinical records in line with professional standards
Essential Criteria
* NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (Adult or Mental Health)
* Previous experience in custodial, forensic, community, or emergency care settings is beneficial
* Prison clearance (CTC or enhanced DBS with vetting) is preferred – but we can support new applications
* Confident managing challenging situations and working autonomously
* Able to commit to at least two shifts per week
