Flexzo Teach is a direct recruitment platform connecting education professionals with local settings - no agencies required. We are building a talent pool for a specialized Alternative Provision in Scunthorpe and invite Support Mentors to register.
The Opportunity
* Set your availability for short-term, long-term, or permanent roles.
* Set your hourly or day rates with full transparency.
* Receive booking requests and messages directly through the platform.
* Work with vulnerable learners in a setting focused on inclusion and re-engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 or small group support for students with SEMH needs.
* Lead interventions or classroom activities (HLTA level) to close attainment gaps.
* Implement de-escalation techniques and positive behavior strategies.
* Work with inclusion leads to deliver Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Requirements
* Proven background as a SEN Teaching Assistant, HLTA, or Mentor in an Alternate Provision, PRU, or SEND settings.
* Strong skills in behavior management and trauma-informed practice.
* Confidence in tailoring curriculum delivery to diverse learning needs.
* Right to work in the UK and a valid DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
* A calm, professional approach to supporting students with complex barriers.
