You will be based at our modern, purpose-built Head Office in the vibrant city centre of Cardiff. Cardiff is an accessible city with strong transport links, and London is only 2 hours away by train.

The role
As a Buyer, you will assist in developing, sourcing, and delivering on-trend, commercially focused ranges, driving profit, and enhancing the Peacocks brand. You will be part of our close-knit Head Office team, ensuring our ranges are developed and delivered in line with our brand vision and strategy.
Responsibilities/Objectives:
* Plan and build a commercially balanced range, achieving margin targets set by the company;
* Drive regular departmental product reviews, ensuring coordination across departments regarding trends, looks, and color palettes;
* Operate an effective and timely product sign-off process, in line with the critical path and planning cycle;
* Take ownership of the critical path, ensuring deadlines are met, issues are raised, and action plans are communicated and implemented;
* Review and analyze sales data, identifying top-performing products/lines, making data-driven decisions for future lines, and presenting recommendations;
* Source, select, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain optimal products, prices, and contract terms, leveraging supplier expertise to improve range and knowledge;
* Lead meetings at Director/Head of level, ensuring key information is communicated and actions are completed within set timescales;
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure successful launch of new product lines, seasonal collections, and initiatives;
* Work with the merchandising team to monitor and control trade, stock turn, margin targets, and profit levels.
Skills and Experience:
* Experience in a Fashion Retail Buying role with a strong commercial mindset;
* Deep understanding of fabrics, garment construction, and the buying process, with a keen eye for print and pattern;
* A passion for trends and ability to drive innovation in a fast-paced environment;
* Excellent negotiation skills and relationship-building with suppliers;
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external collaboration;
* Proven track record of developing and trading highly commercial fashion ranges that exceed sales and profit targets.
