This role sits within a growing training function that supports professionals working in fire safety disciplines to achieve recognised qualifications and maintain high professional standards.
As an Assessor & IQA, you’ll play a key role in shaping learner success, providing high-quality assessment, guidance, and quality assurance across specialist fire safety programmes. This is a varied position where your expertise will directly contribute to raising standards across fire risk awareness, compliance, and safety practice.

Responsibilities
* Support learners through their qualification journey, providing clear, structured, and actionable feedback
* Assess learner work and track progress against programme requirements
* Deliver guidance on assessment processes across both online and classroom settings
* Conduct Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) to ensure consistency, compliance, and high standards
* Mentor and support assessors, promoting best practice and standardisation
* Manage your caseload effectively, meeting deadlines and quality expectations
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of assessment materials and processes
* Identify and address any issues relating to plagiarism or malpractice
* Collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to enhance learning quality
Qualifications
* Level 4 qualification in Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English, or relevant experience

Experience
* Experience assessing or supporting learners in a professional or technical environment
* Knowledge of fire safety disciplines such as fire doors or passive fire protection
* Experience delivering structured, constructive feedback
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including Word and Excel
* Experience conducting fire risk assessments and report writing
* Experience working with regulated qualifications or awarding bodies
