We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced hospitality environment. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area. This position is ideal for individuals with an interest in culinary arts and a passion for food preparation in a restaurant or hotel setting.
Responsibilities
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
* Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation tasks as required.
* Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
* Help with the organisation of kitchen supplies and ingredients to facilitate efficient workflow.
* Support the culinary team during busy service periods by providing assistance as needed.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
* Participate in regular deep cleaning of kitchen areas to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential.
* A keen interest in food preparation and culinary practices is highly desirable.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards learning from experienced kitchen staff.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
