Design and Technology Teacher
Secondary School in Barnet – Full‑time (Start November/December 2025, ASAP). Joining a "GOOD" rated school where staff and pupils work collaboratively to create an inclusive learning environment for all.
Position Overview
The Design & Technology department combines highly experienced and newly qualified teachers, welcoming new staff and providing ongoing support and mentoring throughout the contract. There are also three technicians available to assist with practical requirements.
Responsibilities
* Teach elements of graphic design, resistant materials, woodworking and engineering at GCSE and A‑Level.
* Plan lessons, prepare assessment materials, and mark student work.
* Incorporate differentiation to meet the varying needs of pupils.
* Maintain a strong classroom presence and manage behaviour effectively.
* Adhere to health and safety standards within the department.
Qualifications
* Full UK Qualified Teaching Status.
* Experience teaching Design Technology to GCSE and A‑Level students.
* Strong understanding of health and safety within a school setting.
* Proven ability in lesson planning and marking.
* Dynamic classroom presence and effective behaviour management skills.
* Enthusiastic and passionate attitude toward teaching.
