We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Public Health department as a consultant in public health, responsible for children's public health. Public Health is one of six departments within the County Council, exercising the full range of public health duties, including the delivery and commissioning of services. The Director of Public Health is a chief officer of the council, reporting directly to the Chief Executive. This position reports to the Director of Public Health. The post holder will be responsible for improving the health of those living within Leicestershire.
The Public Health Department has a strong reputation in innovation in service delivery and commissioning, action on the wider determinants of health, and asset-based community development approaches.
Additionally, we have been successful in our bid to the NIHR to establish and host a Health Determinants Research Collaboration DRC at Leicestershire County Council. Our links with academia are strong, with two of the consultant team holding posts within academia alongside their in service' consultant roles.
In addition to being suitably qualified, candidates will need to have experience successfully managing public health professionals, budgets, projects, and leading through change.
