The SECRHTT is based at Cygnet House, Ware and covers the Southeast of Hertfordshire including catchment areas under 3 Community Mental health teams (Holly lodge in Cheshunt, Cygnet House in Ware and Oxford House in Bishops Stortford).
The post holder will work alongside the multidisciplinary team and a consultant psychiatrist allocated to SECRHTT. People receiving services from the community services are predominantly severely mentally ill and so active involvement in the process of care programming is vital. The post holder will be expected to work independently on a day-to-day basis, but with access to consultant.
The successful candidate would be supporting CRHTT consultant and the multidisciplinary team in providing diagnostic assessments and treatment to patients with severe, complex, and high-risk psychiatric conditions.
2 years’ experience within psychiatry is an essential criteria for specialty doctor posts, should you not hold this experience you maybe interviewed and considered for an alternative posting which will be different in grade and pay.

* To undertake clinical assessment, formulate risks and management plans, completing prescriptions under supervision of Team consultant.
* To undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients.
* To record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively, and submit this promptly to the Information Department.
* To participate in regular supervision with team consultant to ensure skills and competencies relevant to the roles and responsibilities are developed in order to meet the needs of the service users.
* To work with multi-disciplinary professional colleagues and local managers in ensuring the efficient running of services and share clinical responsibilities according to competency level with other medical colleagues in the team.
