Job Summary
We have an exciting fixed‑term opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant Practitioner to join a friendly and forward‑thinking Outpatient Physiotherapy department at our Jacketts Field, Abbots Langley site. You will be supported by a Band 7/6 qualified Physiotherapist through a well‑established supervision process and will receive robust training, in‑service training opportunities and further development in both 1:1 and group‑based clinical activities.
Main Duties
You will be assessing, treating, progressing and discharging routine MSK patients, including trauma and elective post‑operative orthopaedic presentations. You will run group exercise sessions (e.g. TKR classes, lower limb classes) and support our qualified staff in joint treatment sessions when appropriate.

Job Responsibilities
* Treat own caseload of patients in the MSK Outpatient Physiotherapy setting according to treatment protocols; monitor progression and make alterations as required.
* Use clinical reasoning to employ a range of assessment and treatment skills to formulate treatment programmes.
* Work unsupervised regularly and report progress or changes from expected findings to a qualified physiotherapist.
Person Specification – Essential
Education and qualifications
* Good general education up to GCSE or equivalent.
* NVQ Level III in health‑related subject or equivalent qualification.
* No HCPC membership required.
Knowledge
* Understanding of the therapy assistant role within rehab and discharge planning.
Experience
* Significant NHS experience as a therapy or nursing assistant.
* Experience managing and prioritising own caseload.
* Experience with outcome measures and common rehabilitation techniques.

Education and qualifications
* Evidence of recent study in the field of health care and/or rehabilitation.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of local services for onward referral.
