Fabrication Manufacturing Engineer (12‑Month FTC) Location: North West England A defence engineering business in the North West is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support a major armoured vehicle hull fabrication programme on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This is a hands‑on role on the shop floor, driving process improvement, quality, and large capital investment projects within a heavy fabrication environment. The opportunity Lead and implement improvements to fabrication manufacturing processes, focusing on dimensional stability, repeatability and right‑first‑time build. Be a visible, “hands‑on” presence on the shop floor, resolving build and quality issues and supporting operators and supervisors. Develop and introduce automation where appropriate to improve efficiency, consistency and product quality. Lead and support structured problem‑solving, lean and continuous improvement activities to reduce build hours per product and minimise waste. Contribute manufacturing input to design (DfM), jigs and fixtures, and major capital projects for vehicle hull fabrication.
