The Company
Neos Engineering are partnered with a leading engineering organisation delivering critical power solutions across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in generator and control systems.
The Role
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the commissioning, testing, and support of power generation and control systems. You will play a key role in delivering projects across a range of environments, ensuring systems are fully operational, compliant, and integrated.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out generator commissioning, including testing, fault finding, and performance verification
* Commission and support mains synchronisation systems, ensuring seamless integration
* Work with AMF, synchronising, and load sharing control systems
* Configure and test Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) and ComAp control panels
* Commission Automatic Bus Controllers (ABCs) and associated systems
* Interpret electrical schematics and support control panel design and build
* Perform on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, and rectification of faults
* Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety standards
* Provide technical support to clients and internal teams
* Produce commissioning reports and documentation
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in generator commissioning
* Strong knowledge of mains synchronisation and load sharing systems
* Hands-on experience with:
o Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) controllers
o ComAp controllers
* Experience with Automatic Bus Controllers (ABCs)
* Strong electrical fault finding and diagnostic skills
* Ability to work independently on-site
* Excellent communication and reporting skills
Qualifications
* Relevant electrical engineering qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ or equivalent)
* Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Experience
* Experience within critical power environments (data centres, hospitals, utilities)
* Exposure to water industry / water board projects
* Knowledge of PLC systems and integration
* Previous client-facing commissioning experience
