Based at our Head Office in Tiverton you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the corporate address gazetteer which forms part of the national address dataset. You will also provide technical support to the Street Naming and Numbering function of the Council and support the provision of the corporate Geographic Information Systems. As part of the ICT Services team, some work in supporting users in the operation of gazetteer software and Geographic Information Systems may be required.
Ideally you will have some experience in working with databases, have excellent IT skills and be knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Access. The ability to read and understand Ordnance Survey maps is essential to this role.
You will be required to work to a high level of accuracy and detail. Good communication skills are needed to support the business and once trained will be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. It is essential that you are able and willing to learn new skills.
A satisfactory basic disclosure check and three years complete employment history will be requested in the event of you being offered the position.
