Job Description:
Your new company
A successful and steadily expanding 10 Partner firm, our client has a really interesting client base, from A-list celebrities through to entrepreneurial SMEs. The firm has grown organically with an excellent mix of internal promotion to Partner and the occasional strategic lateral hire. Currently Partners take individual internal management responsibilities but they are now ready to channel all these into a newly created Practice Manager function.
Your new role
This role is approximately 50% financial management and 50% operations (including some marketing & PR).
A full spec is available but in brief, the financial reporting side of the role includes:
* Owning, managing, and improving all management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes
* Producing accurate MI and KPIs for various stakeholders across the firm
* Overseeing costs and maintaining controls; providing suggestions for improving office savings
* Monthly management packs including management accounts, staff productivity reports, new clients, debtors, and creditors
* Overall financial interpretation and integration into projects and daily management within the firm
On the operational side, responsibilities include:
* Managing the firm’s infrastructure and insurances
* Line managing an Administration team to ensure effective day-to-day office and operational activities (including Health & Safety and compliance matters)
* Working with the outsourced IT function to ensure high service levels
* Overseeing marketing and PR initiatives (e.g., social media, website, LinkedIn) and developing brand consistency
What you'll need to succeed
The firm is based in North London, with a current working culture of 5 days a week in the office. Parking is available locally, and it would be advantageous for applicants to be already based in North London or within easy commuting distance.
* Managerial experience in Finance/Operations within a fee-earning or time-based business, ideally a Partnership
* While a qualified accountant is not required, equivalent financial skills are necessary
* A personality comfortable challenging senior stakeholders on matters like KPIs or financial policies
What you'll get in return
* A busy, lively working environment
* The opportunity to shape and own this role, as there is no predecessor
* Ample resources to support your effectiveness in the role
